A fried Pixel 2 XL of mine says otherwise. Was a nice burnt smell from the charging port.

But not an Apple device and happened a while ago. It also warns/warned of water in the charging port. I will say Google took care of me though and wanted it sent to their HQ for analysis of what went wrong, and they let me buy another at discount.
