No more need for deep troubleshooting for a 5-6 year old phone. Replacement battery or new phone are your options.

Don't put your phone in the freezer during an update. Data tends to freeze........

if it was the battery shouldnt it work on the charger?

i wasnt going to leave it in the freezer i was just trying to see if it was an over heating issue or not
