I like many things about iOS. But why is there such a severe compromise on the responsiveness of the interface and why does nobody talk about it?

It's been this way for years.

The next time you pick up your phone, pay attention to the number of times you redundantly tap the screen while moving through the interface. No it's not you, it's the phone (or specifically the software) which is at fault.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. I never have to press things more than once to navigate through my device.

I’ve had iPhones from the original, 3GS, 4, 5, 6 Plus, 7, X, 13 Pro, and now 14 Pro and have never noticed it. I guess there may be occasional times that I didn’t realize but definitely not enough to think it’s a problem.

Fair enough!

I should clarify this is typically an issue for my while quickly moving through the interface due to how iOS handles animations.

If you use a responsive android phone then move back to iOS the frustration lies in how touches are often ignored during animations (caveat: not during all animations) coupled with the slow speed of animations, makes for a slow speed of nvaigating through the interface.

Same, I had animations at double speed on my old galaxy, I'm trying to slow myself down a bit and wait till the animation finishes.

I think I understand this part: touches are ignored during animations. I have that sometimes, like I’m the Reminders app when I reorganise my lists. But that’s the only example I can think of

To those saying this has never happened to you, I don't blame you. Maybe you just never pay any attention to it. A week ago I decided to observe how my 14 Pro would respond to touch, and what OP says is unfortunately right. iOS imo has some sort of responsiveness problem sometimes. I've never noticed it before until when I started paying close attention to it. So I would advise if you do not have any problem with it please don't look for it and just enjoy your phone.

I have no idea what you are talking about and you didn’t give any examples.
