I have one friend who absolutely refuses to stop leaving me pointless, inane voicemails. It drives me insane and iOS obv doesn’t give you this sort of customization.

You can’t block a specific person from leaving voicemail on an iPhone, you can block the user completely or turn off all voicemail. it’s all or nothing.

Check out youmail. I used to use this years ago and you can individually specify different rules for different callers, including playing a message and then hanging up on the caller.
