On days when I’m outside in the city all day, it does get really annoying when my phone fails me at like 8pm or I have to sparingly use my GPS app because it eats up so much battery.

Is it worth the cost?

It’s not about timing, it’s about it literally not being useful to me in days where tracking and transporting are very important.

I would turn off location, background app refresh and other battery draining settings. You could also put your phone in low power mode to save even more battery. 82% is low but you should make it until next year.

Apple won’t change your battery until it reaches 80% anyway.
