Just came from a 12Pro (regular) and it charged lightning (no pun intended) fast. With this new iPhone 14PM, I put it on at 75% and it took a full 5 minutes to go up a single percentage. True on both MagSafe and lightning cable attached to a MacBook Air USB C 30w brick. All Apple cables and chargers. Also true regardless of optimization on or off.

You went to a phone with a larger battery. It’ll take longer to charge in general, no matter the method.

Fair but 1% in 5 minutes on a 30w charger is particularly slow, no? That suggests it would take 8 hours to charge on a fast charger.

Depends on how charged it is when you plug it in. Charging isn’t an instant thing, you know. :)

5 minutes for a single percent is slow. But iphones will charge fast at lower percentages and slow at higher percentages.

Fair. Will try again when the battery dies more and report back.

They charge the fastest up to like 60-70% or so, then slow down. The last 25% takes longer than the first 75%, or close to it. This is on my 13Pro, but I’m sure it’s similar on the new 14’s.

I’ve had issues where my phone was draining faster then it charges and it fixes after a restart, that could be the case here possibly

Bigger battery and the lightning cable is not really the fastest charger out there

Did some messing around and as someone said below, it seems to throttle as it gets closer to 80. Plugged it in at 49 for 4 minutes and it jumped 7%.
