I have an old iPhone 5S, but I forgot the passcode and the home button is not working anymore. I tried to put it into recovery mode with RecBoot/ReiBoot in order to do a factory reset, but they don't detect the device when connected to my computer (I'm running Monterey). Is there anything else I could try? Could they help me in an Apple Store for free or it's a paid service?

3uTools on windows can do this, otherwise I’m of no help.

It’s going to ask for previous passcode after the restore before it allows you to set it up again

Aren’t you confusing the activation lock with the passcode?
