I do fine with the opticians attached to LensCrafters in Newport Mall. No idea what they are called though.

My wife goes to Hudson Eye next to Journal Square.

Both places had minimal wait times, and we had no complaints about service. But we just get basic checkups, nothing more advanced.

I go to Dr Gurland in Bayonne. Not only is he a healthy at any size doctor but he actually listens to me and lets me be actively involved in my own care.

I use One Medical. Been with them for 3 years. Service is $199 yearly. All locations are in NYC but it’s worth it.. if I have to switch to anyone in Jersey City or Hoboken, I’d be f****d

I like Dr Amer Syed. He runs every tests & doesn’t rush during the visit. But he also likes to prescribe the rx to independent pharmacy instead of national chains.

There’s a Weil Cornell Primary Care Office at 40 Worth Street in Manhattan (a ~5 minute walk from WTC). Loved ALL of my service and treatment there.

Someone else here also recommended One Medical, I do like One Medical but you don’t get a consistent Physician. I’ve found that the MyChart app is getting to be just as good in terms of being able to reach a doctor/access records/get questions answered.

I use them too and have been pleasantly surprised how seamless everything is with them.

The downside is they don’t seem to have in-house specialists like some of the larger, more traditional systems do, but it’s fine if you mostly need just primary care.

I wonder why they haven’t expanded to NJ yet.

Agree with this, lots of Dr’s and offices around the city. The Trinity Place location is right off the WTC PATH. Be prepared to wait some time for an initial appointment with one of the more in demand Dr’s.

Lastly I’d say I like their MyChart software easy booking of appointments and finding other Drs and pretty thorough medical records and communication with your Dr.

I had an issue with them not having specialists this at first. but they are good at referring out when I needed it. I would love to see them expand to NJ, their services are so affordable and a lot of people here could benefit. They also have programs for people who don’t have insurance.

I got glass in my eye and the ER referred me to his dad the ophthalmologist who works next door, but my stupid insurance wanted a referral from my primary care doctor. Couldn’t get anyone on the phone there so Dr Gurland came out and said “just call your insurance and switch to me, then I’ll issue the referral it’ll take 10 minutes”. He was so nice I stuck around.
