Does anyone have a good recommendation for boiler replacement company/guy and estimated cost? Ours was 30+ years old and cracked. Can I also replace 2 of my furnaces with 1 more efficient one? Would this cause problems with billing with a 2 family unit? Input BTU 75k Heating capacity 59k

Gamarello Plumbing and Heating. If you have a 2 family I’d keep it on separate utilities - you can’t charge people for it if they don’t have their own. If your other is really old I’d replace as well. Amazed it lasted 30 years.

Any idea what a good price is? I'm getting quoted 14k for 2 boilers . 8500 for one

If you’re talking about steam boilers for heat, that’s a great price. I’ve been quoted between 10 and 14k for a 150,000 Btu boiler

$14k for 2 boiler replacements is in the ballpark. Make sure they pull permits.

For boiler I’m not sure. 1200-1800 all-in I’d guess but I am winging it. I’ve done a few water heaters but not a boiler in a long time.

Your boiler quote is outrageous. Get 3 quotes.

We recently used canaan tech mechanical to replace one of ours- a 50 gallon. Cost was around 12-1500 (can’t remember exactly which) including labor and materials.

Your post has a confusing question. It's not clear if your looking for a steam boiler for radiator or boiler for hot water. A hot water boiler will run about 2k. In kind steam boiler should be 5-7k.

If you increase your BTU output, the plumber/city may require that you install a liner in you chimney for CO exhaust. If you have a liner, it may require a bigger liner that gets more complicated to run in your house.

I apologize as I am learning alot of these things on the fly. It is a boiler that heats the house through the radiators. I believe it is gas powered.

The water heater for hot water is not broken.

Kook and Sons. I’ve used them a couple times over the past decade. Howard and his team very easy and straight forward to work with

Years ago, they (Kook) would warn you on their answering machine message that their estimates would be higher than other plumbers.

Familiar well known company that supplies gas (and also our electricity) sent a great team that replaced boiler in half a day. They had modern tools to install pipe quickly and cleanly that were amazing. The cost was reasonable and we are very happy with the product.
