I put out a few bags a week and ended up getting a ticket a month later for $110. I had a lot more to throw out so I ended up using Junkin Irishmen to throw out the rest -- they cleared out a small bedrooms pile worth and old trims, studs, etc for $650 from the 3rd floor (2 flights).

My experience has been they don't care as long as the bag isn't too heavy and they can't see that it's construction debris. 5 lb of rubble in a 33 garbage bag with household trash is never noticed, but it would take a long time to get rid of a few hundred pounds!

How did they find out a few months later? Or were you dumping for months?

I put between 2 to 4 bags out every week or every other, for around a month. Could be the bags were a bit too heavy, or not neatly concealed? Or the policeman was ticket happy on Thanksgiving week 🤷‍♀️. He wrote me 2 tickets, but the prosecutor was confused as to why he wrote me 2, so he took the second one off.
