Strange, I’ve never had this happen and I go to the airport at least once a month.

Maybe rides to JFK are long distance enough and they're willing to deal with it or go through staten island to get back to NJ. It's a crapshoot, basically. I don't blame the drivers I blame Uber and the government for screwing them.
