Lol. But seriously so many people do. Ive been in JC since the 80s and never went to Times Square for NYE…Im sure its magical but the lack of restrooms and standing on your feet for 8+ hours is insane. I’ve met numerous folks who have literally taken meds and forgone liquids just to see the ball drop. Its insane.

The post 9/11 changes make it sorta miserable sounding. I've gone to one of the bars in the area, no view of the action but they keep a lane you can go out into the street with, that's the way to do it I tell you what.

I was working on Times Sq on NYE prior to 9/11, it was worse. Now the crowds are less.

I thought the harsh crowd control measures like pens you can't leave, and having to arrive like 8-12+ hours beforehand, were security after. Maybe that tamped down the crowds, but the experience sounds miserable.
My dad did the ball drop in the early 80s when it was kinda sketch to say the least, but that sounded better than what it is now to me.

Back then the crowds where huge but you could move from section to another. Now the crowds are less but you cant move…and no rest rooms.
