A plethora of rules is to be expected, but I've yet to hear an argument against letting them serve food. Yes, letting patrons bring in food or have it delivered would have been a good compromise, but only if there was any reason to not allow food service in the first place. Does anybody remember the rationalization behind the food service ban in the legalization bill? No homegrow is a terrible idea, but at least there's terrible logic behind it.

“How dare you use this substance that was banned for my whole life” seems to be reason enough for some dinosaurs.

Article is paywalled for me, but I believe JC had already passed local ordinance to allow for consumption lounges pending state approval (when most towns were banning sales or that specifically to front run legislation) & there may have already been a handful of applicants to the city waiting for the state rules. It's hard to keep up with changes, so this could be out of date/not the whole truth; but, I think lounges are a great idea especially in a place with the density of JC (apartment/shared space, in addition to far less driving)

Or just let anyplace with a liquor license have the option of expanding to weed.
Problems solved.
Separate licensing and taxes for weed is stupid. Hopefully the Supreme Court will eventually get the case and strike it down. It’s just exploitative.

It looks like OP posted an AMP link. These should load faster, but AMP is controversial because of concerns over privacy and the Open Web.
Maybe check out the canonical page instead: https://www.nj.com/marijuana/2023/01/nj-will-allow-consumption-lounges-for-legal-weed-but-there-will-be-rules-lots-of-them.html
