When I spoke to them at the "Everything JC" festival they said they are starting as med-only, but will expand to adult use shortly after. We'll have to see how it plays out.

Supremely confused as to why there isn’t a recreational dispensary in JC yet. The whole bullshit wringer they threw all the applicants through to apply for the license seemed to be extremely over the top for no reason. Meanwhile there’s places in Fort Lee and Bloomfield that compare to places on the west coast. Make it make sense. Oh wait nvm Hudson county is just corrupt as fuck.

You're not allowed to do anything until you line some pockets around here

The whole situation here has been embarrassing. Only the rich MSOs have been allowed to sell for a year now, and we’re left waiting indefinitely for these small businesses to open. I want to shop at the locally owned stores, but they haven’t been allowed to open yet. The CRC also deleted some terribly snarky tweet they made about NYC, who just had their first sales at a store run by a nonprofit that works for the homeless.

Also the fact that all homegrow remains illegal is totally insane.

That charity run dispensary is the closest recreational dispensary to Hudson County. It's a one seat (or at least one ticket) ride on the PATH and a short walk through Greenwich Village.

Downtown FLWR was originally supposed to open in Bell Mar, but decided to move to JC. My guess is they saw the huge vacuum in Hudson County and figured a major PATH hub where nobody else has an annual license would be a better place to be as they'll have the jump on everybody else. They just had to wait for the CRC to give them permission to change their name.

Harmony in Secaucus just got permission to expand to adult use, which will happen when they grow their inventory enough to satisfy the CRC. So, you can get there from JC via a 2 train ride (minimum), plus a 1 mile walk through a scenic industrial park. Had they done this when the rest of the MSOs did it, they'd get a lot of business, but Housing Works in the East Village is a better deal.

The president of NJ-NORML was told to expect a boom of openings in April. We'll see.

What’s the best dispo in the area at the moment? I’ve only been to ZenLeaf in Elizabeth and enjoyed it. Prices still high though. It’s just so easy to get stuff delivered from NYC services that I haven’t felt the need to drive 20-30 minutes to a shop. I’ll go to the legal ones when they’re open in JC.

I think Jemma loan will be the first dispensary to open in DTJC. I went in there recently and it looks like it’s operate any day now.

Outta curiosity, why are we labeling this as "adult use". Is there a kids use, too?

Adult-use is used as a synonym for recreational sales, as opposed to medical. It’s a weird term and I’m not sure if other states even use it.

But yeah it’s basically legal to use if you’re under 21 too lol, you can only get a written warning on first offense.

I should have used the word “recreational” instead of adult use.

Just a question: why anybody bother about "official" dispensary, if pretty much any smokeshop sells all kind of type of cannabis products?

I can only imagine how reasonable the pricing will be compared to the none legal route lol
