You could say it is the best tourist trap irish pub. There are great ones in Brighton Center, Dorchester, Quincy, and Canton.
Can you list your favorites? Thanks!
The Black Rose is the McDonald's of irish pubs.
Not a bad pint but you’re better off going to Emmet’s in Beacon Hill if you’re in the downtown area. Bar that the best Irish pubs are outside of the downtown vicinity.
Probably not but they are convenient, pour a nice pint, and sometimes have good music.
Well said. We had a few work events here. The beer was fine, but when I see their name written I can literally feel the indigestion and heart burn from their appetizers. The food is so awful.
I'm just scratching the surface here:
J.J. Foley's in downtown, J.J. Irish Pub & Grill in Dot, Blarney Stone in Dot, Eire Pub in Dot, Criac in Quincy, Darcy's Pub in Quincy, Brendan Behan Pub in JP, Biddy Early's in downtown, Amrhein's in Southie, Hillside Pub in Canton
None of these are tourist traps, except for maybe Eire Pub. Hillside is my favorite.
Foleys or Mr. Dooleys if you have to be in the city. Druid in Cambridge if its still there. Plough and Stars is not an Irish kit bar but if you want an absolute quality pub type experience that’s the money. Favorite was the Littlest Bar but that’s gone too. 😒
Had a legit meal at The Tinker’s Son in Norwell on Friday the 17th.

In the top 15 but not the best.
Hahahaha, "is it the best" then follow up with explaining where it is. Really? Clearly if everyone thought it was the best would you really have to explain where it is? Weird!

They serve up an excellent pint. More like a bar though.
