Hey, my friend is doing a project on folklore/urban legends in her state, and it inspired me to make this post. I was wondering if anyone here has any haunted experiences or urban legends to share?

Yeah, at Lizzie Borden's house in Fall River (now a "haunted" B&B). This was 8 or 9 years ago I guess. Sleeping soundly, and in the middle of the night, I heard a cat meowing or purring. It woke me up, and I was definitely awake, not dreaming. Heard it for maybe 30 seconds or so. Next morning, I mentioned it at breakfast and the woman running the place said the cat can often be heard but is never seen. The fact that there was a ghost cat there at all didn't come up in any of the stories we heard about the house the night before, but apparently they did have a cat.

Supposedly there are the spirits of her father and stepmother there, but aside from the cat, nothing weird happened that night.

Huh. Never thought I’d hear about a ghost cat at the Lizzie Borden house. Now I definitely have to go

Look up the "Bridgewater Triangle". It's an area in Massachusetts with a high amount of strangeness.

When you get through with that rabbit hole look into the book "Monsterland" by Ronnie LeBlanc. The book focuses more on Leominster, MA. The author is from Leominster and is where I have lived for many years. Unfortunately (I think) I have not witnessed any high strangeness but perhaps one day. 🙂

I have a ghost in a 2 family house that i own. From the very first night that i owned and moved into the house on Halloween night of 95 i had interactions with the ghost. I stopped living there after about 2 years. Since then, practically every tenant in bith apartments has had some interactions with the ghost. I have had many conversations with tenants about their ghost experiences, from noises to the ghost sitting on their beds at night to the ghost rearranging things in their house. Still going on!

Have you checked for CO leaks?

Most don’t believe me so I get it…

Probably because, despite all our advances in surveillance technology, there's still zero proof for any of this type of stuff. There is always a more mundane explanation. You just haven't found it yet. Check for coroding lead plumbing fixtures, faulty electrical, leaky gas lines, and vermin, then maybe I'll start to believe.

I don’t need to convince you or anyone else. I know what i have experienced and i have about a dozen past tenants that can attest. The current tenant on the first floor has had some outrageous experiences and has come to me about it several times. She has even video recorded some of the stuff that has happened. Prior to owning this house, I would never have believed any of this could happen. You don’t need to believe.

The SK Pierce House in Gardner. I had some bad experiences in that house. An entertainment company bought it and give tours as a haunted attraction.

I'm what you can say spiritually sensitive so yes I have had plenty of experiences since I was younger. I've seen things/demons/angelic beings, I've heard things as in voices or my name being called, I've had somewhat bloody scratch marks that would either be in three's or fours show up on my body that in no way I could've done to myself, I've slept walked and a couple of years ago I slept walked one night and woke up to find I had drawn an image on the mirror using the sink water and the water patterns were still there on the mirror when I woke up. I saw my body once as if my soul left my body as I was sleeping and I figured this because I was sleeping on the couch and at the angle I was at I was rushing from behind myself laying on the couch to get back to my body because something was after me in that "realm" which was basically a darker version of the apartment I was in. I've seen a rocking chair rock by itself outside when there was barely enough wind if any to make it do that, I recorded myself sleeping in that same apartment I mentioned one night because I wanting to see if I could catch anything strange and I caught noises and bumps going on in the apartment and an audible whispering voice that wasn't mine because I was sleeping, and used to hear really loud banging gunshots or something when sleep in my ears and I would wake up and those sounds weren't there. Just weird stuff.

As far as other people, some in my family have as well. And outside of the family, I actually made a 2-hour-plus-some Art Bell paranormal radio broadcast mix from 1993 to 2013 of about 37 callers calling in about their personal paranormal experiences. Perfect content to listen to in the evening at home, on a night drive, or during a rainstorm. Really weird and eerie stuff. My newest upload includes actual rainstorm visuals and sound that I recorded myself in accompanied with the mix to make it even MORE atmospheric. Enjoy. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b4cKEcvhSGA

Things that happened that aren't 'seeing something out of the corner of your eye':

Watching an earring go down the shower drain, going into my bedroom afterwards and having the earring sitting in some water on the table beside my bed.

When I was but a young dumbass (2001-ish) I did bloody mary at midnight during a thunderstorm. Then I tried to turn the lights on the light bulb exploded. Since then if you try to put a light bulb in it explodes. its been 20+ years, we've had numerous electricians come look at it, but we still have no lights in the downstairs bathroom. Its obnoxious.

I tried to move into a bedroom on the third floor. The girl who killed herself in the room in the 70's disagreed with me and drove me out.

Back when I was in 5th grade, about 2 in the morning, February, some bricks in the chimney fell and crushed the heat exhaust causing the carbon monoxide to back up into the house. My dad had sleep apnea, so he had a c-pap machine, and had 10x the amount of carbon monoxide pumped into him. Carbon Monoxide puts you to sleep then kills you, and it being 2am we were already asleep. He woke up. He woke my mum up telling her he didnt feel good. She said 'something wrong' and got all of us out of the house and called 911, and the fire department came, took a carbon monoxide reading and said 'yeah, you should all be dead right now.'

We've had multiple carbon monoxide detectors in our house since then (1997-ish). The ones with number displays that tell you exactly what the ppm is. (The joke is that carbon monoxide is usually the cause of seeing ghosts, but the ghosts saved me from dying from carbon monoxide - which I find fucking HILLARIOUS)

Some friends and I got a ouija board. we saged the room we were in, and started asking questions. One or two of us would leave periodically to see if the conversation thread would change, to see if someone was doing fuckery - but the conversation stayed steady throughout. I think we ended up talking to 11 ghosts?

Theres probably more. I dont remember all of them, or forcibly blocked them out. I will say, my house was a funeral home for a while, and 3 or 4 people died in my house that I know of, including my dad.
