Per local sources, DCF found the allegations unsubstantiated, and DCF is generally pretty tough when it comes to potential allegations like this.

There is also no criminal investigation which there almost assuredly would be if there was a shred of evidence to support it.

I'm not a fan of churches in general, and any church activity around children specifically, but I'm raising my eyebrow here.

You think a DCF employee can't be biased?

Of course they can. But i also have a pretty good handle on how these things work and the fact that this is a civil lawsuit, not a government one, and there's no police investigation, suggests that a grain of salt be taken.

Lol dcf in Massachusetts is trash. They don't ever investigate shit. So many kids get written off because of the reluctance of dcf to get involved.

In central MA they investigate EVERYTHING that occurs in poor towns and they put plenty of kids into foster care because their parents are doing things like following doctor prescribed suboxone treatment plans or being too poor to afford daycare.

I wouldn’t be surprised if those kids were there thru a DCF voucher. DCF is quick to ignore any hint of neglect or abuse when it’s happening in a contracted facility and MA is arguably the worst state in the country for kids in foster care.

That has not been my experience at all. In fact, DCF is actively pursuing a carer who took vouchers once a foster parent filed a 51A over neglect at the facility, on the other side of the state.

And as bad as the foster system in MA absolutely can be...I can assure you that it is far, far, far worse in certain other states, particularly red states.

I’ll wait for this to sort out. Back in the 80s & 90s there was a epidemic of day care abuse cases. Prosecutors went all in, physiologist extracted wild stores from the kids and people were convicted. Many turned out to be BS. So far this is a civil suit based on the testimony of 3 year olds. It looks bad but let’s wait and see.

I remember being sent to a dark storage room for punishment in pre-school. I had nightmares about it, but no one ever laid a finger on me.

My autistic son, when he was 4 years old got locked in a dark closet by his head start teacher with a soiled diaper for almost 5 hours!

Abuse is not always physical. psychological abuse is used by a lot of teachers on a lot of levels.

TLDR:

2 boys 3 & 4 yo

Accusation: told there were monsters in there then Locked in a dark closet, beaten with a stick, told to shut the (expletive) up, denied their lunches, scratched, pinched, told they were disgusting.

8 staff are named in article.

Lawsuit filed (15 million)

They also told the boys there were monsters in the closet before locking them in it, don't forget the psychological abuse

Can’t forget they also told them they were disgusting because they had to use the bathroom, which they were then locked inside of as well

This exact situation happened to my autistic 4yr old. Pooped his diaper, so the teacher locked him in a closet for almost 5 hours but instead of a beating stick, she threw sand in his eyes.

They were beat, scratched, and pinched right? Wouldn't there be physical evidence? That would be enough right?

LetMeSleepNoEleven t1_isup2x8 wrote

I won’t believe this is fact (or not) until there is more evidence made public, but I won’t find it hard to believe if the evidence is there. Sht like this does happen, unfortunately. It will be more than sad if this is another instance.

Curious about this website. It's not clear what actual news organization produced the article. Gotta watch your sources on these here Internets.

Who's privacy are they concerned with? The abuses and names are listed in the article. I can see withholding the names of the children, but the church and it's employees need to be exposed.
