Hi everyone,

I am in the process of buying out my lease from Boch Nissan Norwood. I was just told that if I buy the car at the end of the lease, there is a 2 week waiting period where I cannot drive the car while the title is changing hands. And the car remains with them. Is this true? I was told this started this year. However, when I bought out my Honda earlier this year, I never had an issue with this.

Buy the car from Nissan. Directly. Call Nissan finance (whatever bank owns your lease) and do the RMV stuff on your own.

The Nissan dealer is not a party to the lease as soon as the deal is closed.

Bought out my Jeep lease earlier this year. Didn’t bother dealing with the dealership, instead called the financing company who owns the lease. They provided the buyout price, everything needed for the title transfer to the new bank/my insurance company for issuing new plates. I did finance a portion of the buyout with a 3rd party bank, not sure if you’re buying out full cash. Either way what the dealership is telling you (2 weeks not allowed to drive) sounds suspect

Correct. I just got off the phone with Nissan Finance. They said they will send me everything I need once I wire them the money. Boch Nissan was trying to charge me $530 for documentation fees. Absurd! Also the last I spoke with from Nissan Finance said she has not heard about the 2 week grace period. Avoid Boch Nissan in Norwood if you can..

Stealing is what they do. Call who has the title and pay it off. What does it say on your registration? Boch or Nissan finance or other?

Go to credit union get car loan. Then get insurance once credit union get title register or get temp plates. Nissan should help you don’t forget you have to pay tax on remaining balance. Boch has nothing to do with this Kelly Nissan was scamming people too it on one of the major news outlets. Good luck and happy Motoring
