From NH and there aren’t any good Asian Markets here. I‘ve heard there are some good ones in Lowell. What shop do you recommend? I am interested in buying noodles for Japanese and Chinese dishes, some fun sweets/candies, and drinks. Thank you.

Update: My family and I went to H Mart in Burlington and we were NOT disappointed. It reminded me so much of my time living in Japan. We stocked up on lots of goodies and ate at the food court. We are already planning to make another trip in a few months. Thank you very much.

You can try H Mart in Burlington, MA if it’s not too far away for you

We go to H Mart in Burlington.

My wife liked an Asian grocer on 101A in Nashua but they had a fire a few months ago and aren't in operation now.

We used to go into Chinatown but just go to H Mart these days. It's a lot more convenient.

Hmart can be really hard to park if you go on saturday or sunday afternoon. There is an hmart in cambridge too but i think the one in burlington is much bigger from what i hear

The asian markets in lowell are mostly southeast asian(cambodian, thai, laos, viet) and not japanese/chinese ingredients etc just so you know.

Yes there are, Lo's in Stratham NH is wonderful. It's tiny and packed full of goodness. I haven't been for awhile but the prices were good, too. Like for $50 bucks I could stock up on all kinds of noodles, dry mushrooms, curry paste etc.

Where are you from that you don’t think there are any good Asian markets here? I grew up somewhere where the nearest Asian market was over 3 hours away and it’s a thrill to live here with all the options so close by.

Anyways…

Go to maruichi if you want Japanese food. Most of it is imported, not produced in the USA. And the owners all speak Japanese. It’s WAY cheaper than H mart for Japanese stuff. Like… half the cost or less.
