Hi I recently moved to Massachusetts and bought a car out of state and id like to register it here. My question is do I need proof of residency to register a car here? I’m still not working and I moved in with family members so I don’t have any proof. Also my drivers license is out of state will that be an issue as well. Thank you.

You need it for insurance and you need insurance to register the vehicle

Insurance would ask for proof of residency? In this case I would be going with GEICO

Yeah. Your rate depends on where the car is garaged, and varies A LOT by zipcode.
