TLDR; investment group headed by former Suffolk downs head is attempting to exploit loopholes in ag land definitions to turn a farming town into a horse track, pricing out locally owned farms and businesses that have been there for generations.

Yeah, god forbid a marijuana grow is put in that spot. Looks like the authors of this lobbied against that & then the Suffolk Downs guy came in. Oops

This is absolutely no ones fault but the residents of hardwick that voted down agricultural use in the form of a cannabis farm. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Agreed. Do they give any reason why the cannabis farm was struck down? Not sure how You deter and how residents can impose a ban on a crop. Oh well hopefully they learn their lesson now that a huge race track and sports betting conglomerate bought the land
