It seems like many roads are trouble-free on Monday mornings, but on Tuesday mornings there are significant delays. Why?

I only commute on Mondays and Tuesdays, primarily along I-495, and on Tuesdays the “Hopkinton” portion of the highway is frequently jammed from exit 50 to exit 58.

What’s so bewitching about I-495 in Hopkinton?

It is the exact opposite. Traffic is significantly better on Mondays (and Fridays) Tue-Thurs is standard issue Boston traffic bullshit. People work from home and skip the commutes Mondays and Fridays.

A lot of companies have 3-day in office now. Mondays and Fridays are the days most people who have that option WFH.

Today there is a liquid nitrogen spill on 495 in chelmsford that is really complicating things. WBZ 1030 traffic on the 3s will give you an update and a giggle.

Hybrid work schedule is normally Tuesday-Thursday! If you are able to, swap Tuesday out for a different day!

Tuesday and Wednesday are the worst days for traffic. Usually, people go to the office from Tuesday through Thursday, working remotely on Monday and Friday.

Remote days are Monday and Friday. Tuesday is the new Monday for commuting

Tuesdays are typically the biggest days for large deliveries. Heavier volume of traffic is related to trucks.

Ironically, Tuesday is usually the 1 day in a workweek where I “work in office”.

I blame all the doordashers and Amazon drivers.
