Well I live in Australia so it's more likely to be a venomous spider than anything else.

Aren't most australian spiders the size of cats? Pretty sure it would be easy to notice them.

I was just about to fall asleep the other night when I felt a tickle on my arm... It was a big *ss centipede. Freaked the crap out of me.

Well their cats are the size of spiders, so no.
