I am questioning whether it might be a perspective thing... Is the left shoe just closer to the camera?....

The soles are tied up next to each other and one is about an inch shorter. You can also see the thickness of the soles is different. Not a prospective thing.

I think the shrinkage in the right (left) shoe can be arrived at using the simple formula of perspective ÷ sarcasm.....
