A Liberty V, unfortunately not in very good condition, or it might have been worth a little money.

Its probably worth about $50. Just the silver is worth a little over $4 So its worth a lot more than 25c

1st of all, OP's coin is a nickel, not a quarter (worth 5c face, not 25c). 2nd, there is no silver in any V nickle (b/c as I just said, it's a nickle, not a quarter; the "pre-1965 90% silver content" doesn't apply to nickles). 3rd, price guides put a 1909 nickle's value at around $2 in G-4 condition, which is what I think the condition OP's coin is in, so there's no way this is worth anything near $50. I'm not even sure where you got "about $50" from anyway b/c if it was a quarter, except for the 1909-O all 1909 quarters in the same condition are worth around $13.

I’m thinking this coin is rarer than most. Left facing liberty and in god we trust is missing.

One of the fun facts about American coinage is that almost all of it is still legal tender and because the sizes haven't changed in the last hundred years, you still find things like this in change on occasion.

when you say "found", you mean at a coin shop/show or similar?
