My Spanish is rough too, but I think they're saying "post a picture with this thing and this hashtag and we'll plant a tree"

That's exactly what it says. So the trees has nothing to see with the box. You can do this kind of advertisement with any other product with the same result. It's the advertisement who supports planting a tree, not the box by itself.

These are worse than plastic bottles

Not that I am old, but when I started going to conferences they had a pitcher with ice water at each table and each chair had it's own glass glass. After lunch they replaced the glasses with clean ones.

My motives are beyond your understanding.
