Why must things become a franchise now though? Why can't find just stand alone? If you want deeper, longer, more developed stories then films aren't your medium, tv shows are.

There’s just something fun about having a favourite franchise that always has another movie coming out for you to look forward to.

Marvel pushed me away from that. There's just too much and the quality is eh.

Deeper and more developed is not exclusive to TV. Movies could be far better than they are today.
