LMAO! They couldn't do justice for the Manga with Anime. So what make them think they can translate this into live action?

If it ever comes out. Wasn't it supposed to be out in 2020, then it got delayed because of Covid? Then they released a few seconds of a teaser, and now haven't said anything about it in years. I'm really looking forward to it, but they've been awfully quiet about it for a while now.

That’s what I came in here to ask. Where the hell is Uzumaki?!

I was honestly hoping someone would chime in and correct me with more information I was unaware of.

I'm a huge fan of Junji Ito's work, but from everything I've seen there hasn't been a good adaptation of anything of his yet. Uzumaki looks like it's doing everything right, from the art direction to the music. I cannot wait for it to come out, but I have to basically put it out of my mind because it was supposed to come out years ago, and it has been years (as far as I know) since they've said ANYTHING about the project.

The studio behind it said they delayed it again and won't say a release date until they're confident enough. Apparently it's still supposed to come this year tho

Getting massive Zelda vibes from this release date situation. Hoping that means they want it to be extra great instead of just consistent lingering production woes.

A few episodes were really good like Mysterious Tunnel, Hanging Balloon, Sandman's Lair and Layers of Terror but others were just boring, sometimes as the source would be. But in general it felt quite cheap, like the animation was done fast in a third world sweat shop. I don't remember Bloodsucking Darkness but a live action version of his stories would probably automatically look better most of the time, maybe except for the staple awesomely disgusting shot of some horrible creature or deformed person. I'd love a live Uzumaki, Hanging Balloon (Hanging Blimp) or Amigara Fault.

I'll be honest, I felt like Hanging Balloon was one of the worst. I don't know the entire concept was deeply hilarious to me.

Of course they were all master pieces compared to anything with Souichi.

It's hilariously creepy. It would be silly to see your face on a balloon but then you'd realize you'll not only have to evade it for the rest of your life but also hope for no one to shoot at it because it will also kill you. The story was also rather brutal with young people getting hanged quickly with no warning. The dad was an idiot tho.

I never made it through that Netflix show. The first episode was just a dud. And the tunnel was meh. It really felt dragged out and long somehow.
