I am huge fan of the movie Columbus and i have been trying to find movies that are similar.

I would describe the movie as very artistic with no special effects, just perfectly timed shots and a lot of amazing architechture.

I do personally not mind the story of the movie i just want to have the amazing experience of watching a movie like this again. The architecture and the artistic aspects are important to me but honestly, i take any suggestions that have at least one of those two aspects.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

"Paterson" (2016) by Jim Jarmusch is right up your alley, as is "Only Lovers Left Alive" (2013).

After Yang by the same director is great, although it has some more fancy effects etc, but it still has that beautiful calming feeling throughout.

Yasujiro Ozu movies

Michelangelo Antonioni movies (not a fan myself, but he's extremely well regarded and sounds like what you're looking for)

On the Criterion Channel they frequently program double features and they paired this film set in Vienna called Museum Hours with Columbus. It’s got everything you asked for.

I will go with movies where a city is a major star:

Rome in The Great Beauty

Los Angles in La La Land

New York in Manhattan

Milan in The Hand of God

Paris in Cleo from 5 to 7

Bruges in In Bruges

Moonlight, and

moreso - the movie it's deeply inspired by: "Three Times"

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter...and Spring Again

35 Shots of Rum (claire denis)

In The Mood For Love

Maybe Kelly Reichart's stuff? It's good.

Good luck!

I just don’t see how it in any way is remotely similar to Columbus.
