Metacritic is great since it doesn’t have the two major flaws of RT.

People with an IQ above 100 switched to Metacritic years ago.

95% of The Shining is set at a hotel though though in mostly used fake sets just like your favorite hotel movie did:

Police union heads are almost always goons so it isn’t shocking to find out that one is an old fashioned criminal.

The year Spotlight won the experts doing predictions said it was a nearly impossible to call three way race for best picture. They were used to either a runaway favorite or a close two picture race so they were amazed by what appeared to be a dead heat with three pictures. No one would have been shocked if any of The Revenant, The Big Short, or Spotlight had one. All three made my top ten that year but Room was #1 followed by #2 Spotlight.

Why should a union waste money campaigning for something they know has absolutely no chance of passing in the next few decades? The have an obligation to their members to not waste funds on pipe dreams.

Well why in the world do you think it should be a priority when you think it has even less chance of becoming a law than do?

That can’t be a priority since it would take at least a decade to have a filibuster proof Democratic Senate.

This isn’t a teachers strike. This is a strike by the very poorly paid support staff.

I visit the far more useful Metacritic probably a thousand times more often a year than RT so it hardly matters if that nearly useless web site disappears.

That was in Ireland and this board is almost entirely for USA releases. It is weird that an official discussion was created since this is currently a six theater release and normally they wait till it expands to fifty or more US theaters.

There actually isn’t much to acquire. Sundance 2023 had only one animated feature film and distribution rights for it in the USA were acquired by a small company a five months before the festival. Most animated films are made by large companies with lots of money so they already have distribution. My local film festival usually only has one or two animated features and they are usually not very good Asian ones desperately searching for a USA distributor.

They never post the Oscar qualifying runs that last only a week since nearly no one sees that release. They wait till the movie starts it’s real limited release a month or two later.
