Typically when people think of the Greatest Movie of All Time they think of huge long epics, like The Godfather, Citizen Kane, Apocalypse Now, Lawrence of Arabia, There Will Be Blood. these huge movies that changed cinema, redefined acting and remain endlessly quoted, referenced and imitated in the decades since.
However then there is a movie like 2008’s Doubt that is none of those, its a small quiet movie with minimal sets and plot that didn’t really have any impact on cinema, is barely over a 100 minutes, and isn’t highly quoted or imitated. but I think it really is one of the greatest movies of all time because of its simplicity and how perfect the acting and direction is. (I guess it’s similar to 12 Angry Men but that movie did redefine cinema at the time)
What are some other similar movies on that level? Movies that are quietly perfect and don’t receive the recognition because of that
