Cruise. And not because of his scientology background. As kid I just didn't like him cause he seemed terribly smug. But with years I grew to respect him and love. He's a top bloke.

I'd have to agree --- from "Risky Business" to "Days of Thunder", he just seemed like a cocky asshole who always found a way for things to break his way --- but after roles like "Born on the 4th of July", "Last Samurai", and "Magnolia", I finally realized this guy can really bring the gravitas to a character and get you totally invested in the story
