I'm a big fan of S. Craig Zahler, especially his westerns, so The Brigands of Rattleborge is the one I want to see more than anything. The story revolves around a group of bandits who use the cover of a torrential thunderstorm to rob the occupants of a small town. The bandits murder most of them, which leads to the town sheriff teaming up with a mysterious doctor to hunt them down.

The last I heard, Park Chan-Wook was attached to direct and Matthew McConaughey signed up to star. The project was picked up by Amazon and renamed The Brigands of Battlecreek. I'm still interested in seeing this version as I like the people involved, but the script has been heavily rewritten and that takes away some of its appeal for me. The original script topped the 2006 Black List and it's incredible.

Anyway, there are lots of unproduced projects I still want to see. What are some of yours?

Del Toro has at least 20 unmade projects that I would kill for see. I wish he got to make The Hobbit movies as well.

David Fincher’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and his World War Z 2. Sure the first WWZ movie was different from the book, but I still liked it. But Fincher making the sequel would have been quite interesting. IIRC, he was adamant about having a $190mil budget but the studio wouldn’t sign off on it. Sure, he’d probably do a lot of takes but I doubt he’d use a dollar more (nor need to reshoot the whole 3rd act)

At The Mountains Of Madness, by H.P. Lovecraft, directed by Guillermo Del Toro. I want it so bad! He even had ILM make a test VFX shot.

Michael Schur (Mose from The Office) owns the rights to Infinite Jest. Not sure that anyone could do justice in a film. Perhaps he bought it to shitty-adaptation-block it from being made.

I'm glad I'll be long dead by the time it hits public domain and every wanna-be arthouse film student takes a crack at it.

It would seriously have to be like a 30 hour movie broken up into 10 three hour films or something close to that. I don’t think any human could possibly do that. Maybe we should let AI take a crack at it. Maybe it will be the thing that breaks AI lol.

I mean, it was finally filmed in full last year, but in terms of actual release, I wish I knew what the hell was going on with the Crow reboot.
