It's going to be almost 60⁰ next week and I'm looking to get away for a day or two. My normal campsites aren't open yet.

Does anyone know a good car/tent camping campground in southern NH? Lakeside would be perfect but I'll take what I can get.

Let's say within a 2 hour drive of Hampton NH. I'm open to other states if they have a good campground that's open.

I lament the fact that so many prepared tent camping sites seem to be in proximity to RV spots. Gross.

Following. Our favorite tent camping place was sold last year and converted to luxury yurts. Yuck.

Pawtuckaway comes to mind when you say southern NH lakeside camping.

Crowded but typically accessible. My go-to. In this case they open the 7th and are booked through April.

Bear Brook State Park is way more tent friendly than RV friendly, but it looks like they open partially on April 7.

Hipcamp might be a good idea this time of year

Not sure if this is considered more central NH but I love Pillsbury State Park. Tons of lake camp sites that are relatively private.

Check out hipcamp.com. I have had really good luck and found some great sites. One in Canterbury that I have been back to more than a few times.
