I mean, did you scout beforehand? If so, hunt the scouted areas where the does resided and little buck bachelor pods reside. Then around rifle season, when the rut begins, follow the does, watch tracks and sign, they move to find bucks and bucks move to find does.

Scouting during the summer and early fall is the most important part of hunting, unless you know for sure your spot is good from prior experience. If you don’t scout (unless you’ve got great luck) chances are you’ll get fewer deer then a lady in a mini van.

Oh, we scouted and know they are in the area. The problem is that we have a depredation hunter that took a few nice ones and there is a posted farm nearby that is owned by a douche. I think there is a harem of does there and the corn harvest on our farm hasn't been great.

I was a jackass and missed on opening day, a horror I relive daily. My other buddy tagged out on a beautiful little spiker. My other buddy and I are still hunting hard.

Your comment implied he was a douche because he had posted signs. I re-read, and see that I might have jumped to a conclusion. Now if he is in-fact a douche for other reasons, then my apologies. If he’s only a douche because of the posted signs, then fuck you man.
