It 11/16/22 4:45 pm. Is anyone experiencing a sewer backup in their homes right now? My daughter owns a rental unit on the east side of town on Pearl St and the sewer has filled the toilet and is overflowing onto the floor for the past hour. Any info would be appreciated.

Edit Got to the house. City was there to meet us. Figured out sewer line between the house and street was clogged. Along with that the washing machine some how was filling and then trying to discharge to a blocked drain over and over again. That resulted in the sewer overflowing the toilet and bathtub. What a mess. Got things settled down. Water is off. Plumber coming in the am to unclog the sewer line and figure out what is was that clogged it. City was great. Hats off to a city worker named Tim! We’ll be out there in the am to begin the cleanup. Thanks for the helpful comments. I’m going to bed!

Call the city asap. Public Works and escalate. Knock on neighbors doors to confirm. It could be that the house line is clogged, or tree blocking up the pipe in yard.

I've got some friends in Dover and none of them have said anything. Obviously sewage coming out of the toilet is some sort of issue, and maybe localized?

That’s a maintenance emergency. Call the rental agency emergency line
