Friday night will be the worst. Even here, closer to the coast, I'm seeing a prediction of -18. Keeping the cold water tap running a trickle could help to prevent frozen pipes. Obviously, don't go out if you don't have a good reason to, and cover up everything if you must.

Never had to think about doing that but am considering for these few days.
Do you do all the faucets or just one is good?

I'd do the one furthest downstream, if that were an issue.
Also, you can get a cheapo droplight and a chicken coop warmer bulb from Home Depot or Tractor Supply that'll keep pipes from freezing.
Obviously not great to run all the time, but if a few of these keep your pipes (especially near the walls with outdoor spigots) from blowing up, then it's still 10x cheaper than a plumber. We used to use a few of these in the house I grew up in. It was an old 1800 granite block foundation that let all the cold air and flooding brook water pass through, so the pipes were tested every February, and this helped.

#Real Feel in Dover Friday Night: -50°
Run both hot and cold water to a trickle that night. I wouldn't wish a burst pipe on my enemies.

All faucets? Or just the ones that go outside?

Any that even are near the outer walls I would recommend running. In older New England homes with unfinished basements, there's a strong likelihood it's going to get very, very cold down there this weekend.

Makes sense, thanks. My basement is finished and heated and the plumbing runs from the same room that the furnace is in which stays warm so I should be ok but I'll probably take some precautions just in case.
