Man you might be laughing, but a decade ago we had that blizzard. Everything was closed and me and my three friends had to split two packets of ramen for a day

honest to god question as a person who works in a grocery store, how do so many people constantly not have 2 days worth of food in their house?

I was broke in college. Trust me, these days my pantry makes me look like a doomsday prepper.

Back then I lived at a house that was set way far back from the road, like 500 feet. We couldn't get plowed out for like 6 days.

I had to call out of work the next day because the National Guard locked the city down. All the dirt bikes on Whalley were replaced with snowmobiles!

Yeah for that one I was stuck in the house for 4 days w the only coffee I had some tiny packet of grounds you had to boil and allow to settle before drinking. Ooooffff. Stopped laughing after that at those people who clean out the grocery store the night before a storm.

Will there be a parking ban?
deusrex_ t1_ja919dc wrote
Yes, they will need to plow.

Any idea where this will apply? Trying to find out if I need to move my car in East Rock, but can't get a clear answer on any of the city websites.
TerpPhysicist t1_jaa69ao wrote
They just sent out the email, web, that has all the info. In east rock you should move your car to the even side of the street if you can.

Just moved over - appreciate it!

Update - parked my car on the even side in east rock and guy towed :)
MattFantastic t1_jadp0wr wrote
If you parked on one of the listed emergency routes you’ll still get towed even if there isn’t a residential ban. See the link above for what falls under what zone.
If you got towed and weren’t in a zone, you probably got towed for something else.
deusrex_ t1_ja9np1w wrote
Usually they need to plow all the streets so everywhere.
