I just bought a sweet 6 string acoustic guitar that I'd really like to learn how to play. Any recommendations?

Check out Mark at "Solution Studios" on Whitney Ave in Hamden. He has a plan where you pay by the month and then you can pick the classes you want to attend. It's all group classes but he walks around and you get individual attention while also playing with others. A lot of my neighbors go and love it.

Adult learner here, I did 6-8 sessions at All Things Musical in Hamden (adult ed special) before the pandemic and found it a good balance for someone who could read music but didn't even know how to hold a guitar. It looks like they only do virtual now, so ymmv.

I take virtual piano lessons with a guy in LA and I love it. I can record the lessons and refer back at any time (including adding time stamps, comments, etc.). There are some downsides related to small audio delays - you can't play together, teacher can't count a beat while the other plays, etc. - but we work around that pretty easily. I don't have to leave my home and it's much easier to schedule when you don't have to figure in travel time. Or take a shower.
I really like All Things Musical. Especially if you like jazz, George is one of the best around.
