Thank you for your suggestions! I just left contracts in Memphis and Little Rock, so this isn't my first encounter with rough places, but it's good to know what the area is like according to locals before I get there.

Good to know you’ve lived in similar places. That experience helps. Those cities are generally more dangerous than New Haven, with roughly double the crime rate.
