I’ve lived here since 2018 near Route 72, Tabernacle before that. Main thing is it’s very quiet with not much to do but I actually don’t mind that as I like fishing, kayaking, outdoors stuff, I do have a dual sport motorcycle as well.

I do not have/want children so 0 info on schools. I hear they are not great but improving.

What are the demographics like?

Most of my neighbors are not your average Trump demographic, I see more rainbow and Ukraine flags than anything, well these days anyway - 2024 might change that..

Rent tends to be cheaper down that way for some reason why do you think so?

Probably lower property taxes due to fewer schools and fewer things to do in general vs Medford, etc..for the average person, if I had to guess. So assuming they set rent slightly lower to attract those on the fence, I dunno that’s my cooked logic lol.

I guess your perspective on it will depend on where in Chicago you’re moving from

Deep in the heart of trump country. If that’s your thing you’ll fit right in.

I don’t live there but have been, so my opinion is based on quick observation and initial vibe and could be partially accurate… it’s red neck country. People like ATVs, Jeeps, pick ups and guns. That’s my thing so I’d feel right at home there but not for everyone.
