  1. Went to college became independent from parents. Took out loans. Graduated. Eloped. Got a job with $12,300 salary. Five years after graduation took out first mortgage. Five years later paid off student loans. Now retired with two grandchildren nearby. This scenario far too impossible in the current situation in this state for far too many people given the cost of college and housing and the relatively paltry compensation relative to 40+ years ago.

Over the decades NJ Lottery pick 5 and pick 6 have increased the number of balls to decrease the odds of winning under the guise of people wanting bigger jackpots. In the 80’s I used to win often. Around the 90’s and 00’s I never won anything so I stopped playing. The pick used to have 36 numbers. You probably have better odds gambling in a casino.

Insane. High property taxes? Exhibit A. Extra pay for sitting in a car doing nothing or watching a high school wrestling match should be at the rate a store security guard gets paid. No wonder cops drive very expensive cars and own second homes in their 40’s.

Coincidence. Hawks are everywhere. A couple of years ago I witnessed a murder of several hundred crows flying near the Toms River across from Ocean Gate heading southwest. For decades dozens were located at the Manasquan River Reservoir.

Yes and it’s still a den of corruption and nepotism. No one gets a job there without connections. I’m not saying much of the private sector isn’t that way, too, but it’s true.

They overachieved, gave us a good ride, have a much improved outlook and will likely continue to improve next year. Go Niners today. Next week go anybody but Cowgirls and Ickles. Likewise in the Super Bowl.

As if this doesn’t happen every year during the winter when comparatively warmer and very moist air comes up from the southern states and the temperature drops to the dew point where water vapor is converted into little liquid droplets.
