In the early 2000's I ran into him regularly along the shore. Still not uncommon, he's a fixture like the ocean.

You couldn't avoid Bruce if you were out and about in the 80s. I'd either see him at a bar or he's hop up and play a song or two with the band. Headliner, Xanadu, Stone Pony.

I was a 18 and worked at 7-11 in Belmar, this musician used to come in on the weekends and brag how Bruce had a crush on his sister, I was like ok dude, whatever you say. That guy was Patty Scialfa's brother.

Fast forward to 2006, I belonged to the Atlantic club, lots of times I'd be lifting weights right next to Bruce. There was a hot redhead, the young mothers all loved him, but this one was all over him. I saw trouble, there was trouble, Bruce likes redheads!

He works out at a lot of the cheaper gyms along the jersey shore. Just do a google image search and you will see him…working out in jeans.

I've met several members of E Street but never Bruce. Even when I was driving Uber on the shore, I got a little giddy if I had to pick up a Bruce or a Patti. But alas, was never them.

I served him and his old girlfriend soup, salad and desert back around '81. He'd be jogging down the street or at the DQ. He was all over Monmouth county.

Fond memories of Summer ’78 whilst stationed at Eatontown’s Fort Monmouth, playing a “bennie” by night, when almost anywhere could be a Bruce drop-in. That New Year’s Eve sometime after midnight, he sat in with Sea Bright’s “Rum Runner’s” party band. Late ’90s I worked for a few months across the street from Big Man West and was amazed at who would be seen on stage through the smoke-filled room.

There was an old article in the Press or a magazine interview Bruce did and he mentioned meeting my brother at the beach in Long Branch
