It was, last time I was there must have been 20 years ago. I am sure it's full of McMansions now, like most of the shore.

If you’re interested in architecture, Cape May has some wonderful gingerbread houses. Not been there for Xmas but from what I’ve heard the town does it well with lights. cape may architecture wiki
