Hi everyone.

I posted a couple months ago asking for some help trying to figure out how to incorporate my son’s love of New Jersey into his birthday party favor bags. Someone messaged me asking to see what I ended up doing and suggested I post an update so here we are.

First, I want to thank everyone for the suggestions. I really appreciated everyone commenting and I enjoyed reading all of the suggestions, even when they felt like inside jokes I wasn’t a part of, haha. I toyed with the idea of ordering some chocolate or salt water taffy, but in the end, I learned how to use royal icing and made New Jersey themed cookies. Each party favor had a little New Jersey cookie and a little personalized license plate for each friend (easy to do when the party is small). Here are some photos of how they turned out. There was definitely some confusion from party guests why New Jersey was featured so heavily, but my son loved it. We also got him his own personalized plate. I’m trying to protect his privacy by not posting his picture to Reddit, but the look on his face when he unwrapped the license plate was just sheer, unbridled five year old joy. It was awesome.

Thanks again everyone. I look forward to visiting your state someday and introducing my son to pork roll/Taylor Ham. Have a great holiday season!
