I have NJ Medicaid Aetna Better Health through NJFamilyCare. Two months ago I realized I STILL had not recieved my renewal form in the mail. Every week from that two month point, I called NJFamilyCare and asked what gives? How am I supposed to enroll, if I do not have the forms? I talked to several reps who told me I do not need to renew because something about covid making it not needed currently to re enroll. Fast forward to today I get an email from GetCoveredNJ telling me I have three days left to renew. Now I m getting annoyed. What is the actual answer? Does anybody know?

Apparently the states answer was f u. Which is the answer they always give, unless you are close to the rulers of the state.

NJ Family Care and GetCoveredNJ are two different systems. Make sure you’re connecting with the right people.

It's one thing if you wanted to change insurance or job stuff caused a need. But your coverage should just roll over on the first as long as you pay the premium. Shit changes what's covered day to day anyway ugh.

They’re two separate things. NJ is not dropping anyone on FamilyCare even though the federal waiver for states to do so is expiring; anyone who is currently or previously had insurance through FamilyCare or the state/federal marketplace are getting those GetCoveredNJ emails (it’s the state marketplace) reminding them of the deadline.

I have insurance through getcoverednj and get emails to renew on an almost daily basis. I went to the website, and it said I am enrolled for 2023, but I can make changes before 12/31. So I'm assuming these are auto-emails?

Can you access a website to confirm for yourself? The fact that you've already spoke to reps leads me to believe that you are indeed enrolled for 2023. Just my thoughts.

Okay - so with medicaid, you don't need to renew during the COVID emergency.

Also, you might want to switch to Horizon NJ Health, or Amerigroup. Whichever your doctors accept. Aetna's the worst medicaid plan in the state.

GetCoveredNJ and medicaid are two different things - GetCoveredNJ is the health insurance marketplace, the NJ version of healthcare.gov.
