I know nobody will believe but I literally said to myself that looks like Westfield without even seeing store fronts. Top comment nailed it.

Wow… traffic was a bitch back then too?

The intersection near where the person took the picture, a cop would direct traffic all day. I’m sure he backed traffic up intentionally to piss his/her bosses off.

A quick Google search shows it's Westfield, which is a pretty nice town IIRC.

Story about a couple that moved to Westfield and is stalked by a creeper. General story is based on a real situation, but Netflix added a few extra local legends to spice it up.

Sorry, I misread that as the Witcher. My bad.

I remember that story from a few years back. I remember there was a neighbor who had mental problems and a voyeuristic streak or the owners paid too much and only bought it because they wanted to raze the house and subdivide the lot but were denied. So there doesn't seem much mystery about who did it.

I didn't watch the show though but I did hear it was good.

You've got some stuff mixed up but basically that's it. The new owners only tried to subdivide it/build it out when they realized the watcher wasn't going away

Based on what I've read here, that's Broad St. in Westfield.

East Broad Street, Westfield, New Jersey - I lived in Westfield for ten years and sat in traffic in that downtown many times.

I didn’t guess it, but as soon as I read E Broad St, I remembered how much I used to love going to the Rialto theater in that neighborhood. Thanks for reminding me!

Looks to be taken around 1990. That's the intersection of elm street (trader Joes, Addams family house)

Arcanum Hall (corner of E Broad/Elm) is another give away. The person who took this photograph was standing near the corner of E Broad and Central where an Athleta is now. Back in those days, there was a police officer who would man “the dot” and direct traffic… all day

Damn, Reddit is wild. That’s down the street from my house. But about… 30 years ago from the looks of those cars. Elm and East Broad St, Westfield NJ.

It’s currently a mix of chain stores and mom-and-pop businesses. There’s an Urban Outfitters is on the corner (out of frame) and a shoe store on the corner with the turret / pulpit looking thing above.

Damn this person must have kept their pictures in good condition. I've never seen a personal picture that old in such good condition.
