Everyone always says adopt and don't go to breeders, etc, but then these rescue people want too much information about you. We're getting a dog, too, but without dealing with all that crap. Beg somebody to rescue a dog? I think not.

They wouldn’t have to if people weren’t such human trash and abuse the animals they adopt. Some get an animal without realizing the amount of time, effort, and money it takes to raise an animal. Others adopt animals to help train their dogs for fighting as well.

I understand that, but in my opinion, some of them go too far, and it's a huge turnoff.

If you find the right rescue- it’s not like that at alllll. We got our puppy from Louie’s Legacy. We filled out application that just asked basic info, they called to chat and set up the meet n greet and we took our puppy home that Saturday! I agree some ask soooo many unnecessary questions and god forbid you don’t have a fenced in yard or work from home they don’t accept you. Louie’s fosters in NYC and surrounding areas so they know dogs can be perfectly happy in an apartment :)

I had friends who live in MD working with a rescue up here. Went through everything, came up for an in person meet and greet, still didn’t get the dog.

Had similar experience. Some dog rescues want hundred of dollars too. The shelter I went to sold us a dog that had biting issues without telling us, broke skin within 2 hours of owning the dog, and then asked us to sign a form saying the dog never bit anyone when we brought the dog back.

Really not sure why this is downvoted, unless people support shitty shelters?
