1100 gallons?! I'm surprised the EPA isn't losing their minds. This is a huge issue and will effect that area till the end of time.
There is an air base near me that is a supersite like this for PFOA/PFAS. There is a 5mile radius from it that drinking water is questionable. Those chemicals are no joke.

I also live near an airbase and the water table is totally fucked from PFAS from the firefighting foam.
It was so bad that the air force had to spend about $15 million to create a water treatment plant.
The groundwater is still fucked though. There's no way to get the PFAS out without extracting the water.

Old water pumped out, new water pumped in.
Used to live on a Navy base where this was being done.

I live in an area the Navy has absolutely fucked the groundwater. It took years of fighting by the state DEC and one of the most powerful senators to even have the EPA acknowledge the problem.
