And when that baby started crying, we all started cheering. You would have thought the Bills made a touchdown.”

A true Christmas miracle.

I'm just a Christmas Eve blizzard baby, and I'm takin' a stroll.

Did they make sure to flip the baby upside down before giving it to the mom? If they did, they owe her a free second baby.

My grandmother was born on the kitchen table during a blizzard in NYC, 1922. She outlived all her siblings, so must be something lucky about it lol. Blessings to the little blizzard baby.

Strange that the article never bothers to explain what the hell a "doula" is. Apparently, they're basically midwives.

They're not basically midwives, midwives are medically trained and can deliver babies, write prescriptions, do most of what an OB can in an uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery (so no surgery or high-risk pregnancies). A doula is a professional support person, they're there to act as support and sometimes advocate for mom, but they aren't medical staff and (this story notwithstanding, apparently) don't do deliveries.

Editing to add: just read the article and one of the doulas in this story is also a licensed nurse, hence her helping with deliveries.
